LVT and vinyl floor fitting in Willenhall — Karndean, Amtico and click systems. Subfloor prepared to tolerance, patterns set out, edges cut clean.
LVT shows every lump underneath it, which on a Willenhall concrete ground floor means latexing it properly first. Done that way it is the best floor in the house for a kitchen or a busy hallway — warm, quiet and genuinely waterproof.
Vinyl needs a flatter base than laminate does - it flexes to whatever is beneath it, so every ridge shows. Over the older Willenhall floors that usually means overboarding with ply rather than levelling compound. The planks are then set out from the centre so the cuts land at the walls, and edges sealed where water can get to them.
The subfloor has to be flat to a much finer tolerance, and on a Willenhall concrete floor that usually means latex. Most of the extra cost is preparation rather than fitting.
It is the best choice for one. Waterproof, warm underfoot and it takes a spill without complaint, which laminate does not.
Glue-down Karndean or Amtico gives the best finish and lasts longest. Click costs less to fit and lifts more easily later. We tell you which suits your floor, not which is dearer.
